VARIOUS PURSUITS (OCCUPATIONS, EMPLOYMENTS, JOBS, CAREERS)![]() Let’s travel back to July 2, 1776, when the Continental Congress voted to separate from Great Britain. Fun fact: John Adams, the second president, believed that July 2nd was the correct date to celebrate America’s independence. He was so strong in this belief that he would turn down invitations to appear at July 4th events in protest.
An even MORE fun fact: Adams and his vice president (and third president) Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
